Election day and macro
Americans vote in the US midterm elections on 3 November. A change in control of Congress could change how crypto, AI and banks are overseen, and results are expected after polls close. Markets are also still digesting the Federal Reserve's 28 October decision to hold rates at 3.75%–4.00%, and the October US jobs report is due on 6 November. Asian stocks fell on Tuesday after another drop in US tech shares.
Binance after the hack
Binance's founder Changpeng Zhao said the exchange covered the roughly $6.3 billion hack from its own balance sheet without borrowing or raising money. About 95% of affected assets have been replaced, and roughly $3 billion of the stolen funds remains frozen on-chain, according to reports. Background: our 2 November report.
